How ordering works

We sell on invoice. Nothing is charged when you check out. Once you place an order we email you an invoice showing the goods, the delivery charge, the total due, our bank details and a payment reference.

Quote that reference when you pay so we can match your transfer to your order. Your order is dispatched once payment clears. If we have not received payment within 14 days we may cancel the order and release the goods.

Delivery cost

Delivery is not priced at checkout, because it depends on the weight, size and contents of your order and on where it is going. Small components cost very little to send; batteries, motors and airframe parts cost more.

Your invoice shows the delivery charge before you pay anything. If it is more than you expected, tell us — we will look at whether a different service or splitting the order works out better, and you are under no obligation to proceed.

Dispatch times

We aim to dispatch in-stock orders within one working day of cleared payment. Payments arriving at weekends or on bank holidays are processed the next working day.

Some items are ordered in from our suppliers rather than held on the shelf. If anything in your order will take noticeably longer, we tell you when we send the invoice, so you can decide whether to wait, split the order, or cancel.

Where we ship

We ship across the United Kingdom, to Europe, and to selected international destinations. Some items — lithium cells in particular — cannot be sent to every destination or by every service. If something in your order cannot be shipped to your address, we will contact you before taking payment.

Lithium batteries

Lithium cells are classed as dangerous goods. They must travel by approved carriers and services, which restricts the destinations available and can lengthen transit times. Orders containing cells may be split so that the rest of your order is not held up.

Once they arrive, charge, store and transport cells according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Never charge unattended, never charge a damaged or swollen cell, and use a charger suited to the chemistry and cell count. Damaged cells should be disposed of at a recycling point, not in household waste.

Customs and import charges

Orders delivered outside the UK may attract import duty, VAT or a carrier handling fee on arrival. These are set by the destination country, are outside our control, and are payable by the recipient. We declare goods accurately — we cannot mark an order as a gift or under-declare its value.

When your order arrives

Please check it promptly and tell us if anything is wrong:

  • Damaged in transit — tell us within 7 days, with photographs of the packaging and the goods. We need these to claim against the carrier.
  • Something missing — tell us within 7 days and we will trace it or resend it.
  • Wrong item sent — tell us and we will send the correct part and arrange collection of the wrong one, at our cost.

Contacting us later than this does not remove your legal rights; it just makes a carrier claim harder to pursue.

Returns — consumers

If you are a consumer in the UK, you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods and return them within a further 14 days, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You do not need to give a reason.

Goods must come back unused, complete and resaleable, with any sealed packaging intact. Return postage is at your cost unless the goods are faulty, incorrect or not as described.

We refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, to the account the payment came from, including the standard outbound delivery charge. If you chose a faster delivery service we refund the standard rate. We may reduce a refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to check the item — the same standard as inspecting it in a shop.

Returns — business customers

The statutory cancellation right above applies to consumers only. We will normally accept returns from business customers within 14 days of delivery on unused, resaleable goods, and may apply a restocking charge. Contact us before sending anything back.

What we cannot accept back

  • Lithium cells that have been charged, discharged or connected.
  • Items that have been soldered, cut, crimped, programmed or otherwise modified.
  • Propellers and airframe parts that have been fitted, run or flown.
  • Adhesives, tapes and other sealed consumables once opened.
  • Parts specially ordered in or made to your specification.

This does not apply where the item is faulty, incorrect or not as described. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Faulty goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something fails, contact us before returning it — many issues are settings or wiring rather than a fault, and the manufacturer can often diagnose it faster than a return can be shipped.

Where an item is genuinely faulty we will repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you, including return postage. Manufacturer warranties, where offered, are in addition to your rights, not a replacement for them.

We cannot treat as faulty any item damaged by reverse polarity, over-voltage, over-current, crash damage, water ingress, or use outside the manufacturer’s stated limits. These are the most common causes of failure in this equipment, and we will always explain our reasoning if we conclude a fault falls into this category.

How to return something

  1. Email hello@opaurea.com with your order reference and what you would like to do.
  2. We reply with return instructions and the address. Please wait for these — items sent back unannounced can take much longer to process.
  3. Pack the goods well. Until they reach us they are your responsibility, so we recommend a tracked service and keeping proof of postage.
  4. We inspect on arrival and process the refund or replacement.
